*27 days to 40*
One sunny afternoon,we girls were out with a friend enjoying our softy ice cream cones. In Delhi it was very common to have "lafandars do gedi" ( jobless guys doing time pass) on scooters or bikes.Along came two over smart lads and yelled "Akele Akele he khaogi?!" One amongst us girls, threw her ice cream over him and said " Le khaa!" (Go eat!)The commotion made a lot of people gather around us, and those rogue fellows fled the spot!๐
That brave girl was my elder sister Deepa.๐
She isn't the regular eldest sister we see around, she's special. She has her loving side and her irritable side. She laughs like crazy, loves u like crazy but,she fights like crazy too!
Growing up ,we both were very caring and protective towards each other .I clearly remember this incident when I'd beaten up a boy from her class because of whom she got stitches on her head.Till date, I'm embarassed to face that boy because it turned out that he didn't deliberately push her but,it was an accident.๐คญ๐ฆง
We grew up without a mother,so evidently,we were each others' punching bags. She had very few close friends and I was one of them.Being an introvert she loved her books and television. There were a lot of complexes she was struggling with which made it difficult for her in life, one of them was her weight and her looks.Having the capacity to put teachers to shame ,she used to read dictionaries and novels like a keeda(book worm)! Compassionate, kind ,loving and very very intelligent but, not so clever !What I've learnt from her is reading gets you maximum knowledge about anything under the sun .That's enough to stand amidst several people confidently.❤️
She is now successful at her career and a mother of two wonderful boys. Distance has made us apart and we don't get to talk too much but, our love for each other remains intact despite these hindrances.
I love u my crazy sister, always will๐๐and I'm glad we always pick up from where we left !
Deepa Sethi
